‘Together we learn, believe and achieve’

Thursday 4th February 2021

Morning Movement

Have a go at one of Joe Wick’s children’s workouts (see The Body Coach channel on youtube) or choose one of the activities from the ‘Be Active’ area on Remote Learning page.

Phonics

Recap yesterday’s digraph ‘oo’ (the long oo sound and the short oo sound) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atlb2jPdFd0

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3UUnmNk1UM

Phonics Operation

Draw an outline of a body or use the template below. Write the following body part words on small pieces of paper or print and cut out the words below: brain, chin, teeth, waist, chest, leg, arm, hand, neck, foot. All these words can be sounded out (we will be learning the ‘ar’ digraph on Monday so parents you will need to help your child with this one).

Your child will need a set of tweezers like a surgeon. First, they need to pick up a word card using the tweezers and read it (using the sound buttons to help) then place it on the correct part of the body.

Can you challenge yourself to read and label the body parts in 1-2 minutes?

What is the message Jesus brings? (peace)

Look at the picture below. What do you think is happening in the picture?

Watch the story ‘Jesus calms the storm’: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZzPwRXytr7U&feature=youtu.be

Christians believe that Jesus is able to perform miracles and can bring peace when they are scared or worried.

Children’s Mental Health Week

Day 4 activity: How are you feeling game?

Play this fun acting game to explore different emotions and feelings. Pick a card and act it out to show an emotion or feeling for an adult/sibling to identify (cards and instructions below).

Act of Worship

Please see 'Remote Learning' channel on Teams for Miss Minnis' Act of Worship video. You will need: a piece of paper, a pencil, colouring pencils and a bird outline (use template below or draw your own). Inside each bird shape, you will need to draw how the school helps you to grow academically or personally e.g. in courage, perseverance, love etc.
