Thursday 4th February 2021
Have a go at one of Joe Wick’s children’s workouts (see The Body Coach channel on youtube) or choose one of the activities from the ‘Be Active’ area on Remote Learning page.
Recap yesterday’s digraph ‘oo’ (the long oo sound and the short oo sound) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atlb2jPdFd0
Draw an outline of a body or use the template below. Write the following body part words on small pieces of paper or print and cut out the words below: brain, chin, teeth, waist, chest, leg, arm, hand, neck, foot. All these words can be sounded out (we will be learning the ‘ar’ digraph on Monday so parents you will need to help your child with this one).
Your child will need a set of tweezers like a surgeon. First, they need to pick up a word card using the tweezers and read it (using the sound buttons to help) then place it on the correct part of the body.
Can you challenge yourself to read and label the body parts in 1-2 minutes?
