‘Together we learn, believe and achieve’

Monday 1st February 2021

Morning Movement

Have a go at one of Joe Wick’s children’s workouts (see The Body Coach channel on youtube) or choose one of the activities from the ‘Be Active’ area on Remote Learning page.

Phonics

Recap Friday’s digraph ‘oa’ by watching Geraldine the Giraffe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCJyHN0IFE8

Play fastest finger hospital phoneme game (see template below or draw your own). Adult to say aloud a sound and child to point to the correct sound as quickly as they can. Can you have a go at writing the sound in the box below?

Today you are going to pretend to be a Doctor and help your soft toy to feel better. Adult (or child) to write 10 different tricky words that we have learnt on individual plasters and stick on the soft toy. If you don’t want to use real plasters, your child could cut out the plaster templates below. Child to read them aloud one by one. If they get them right, they can remove the plaster. If not, they must try again until all the plasters are removed and your soft toy feels better!

The tricky words we have learnt so far are: I, go, to, the, into, no, he, she, we, me, be, was.

  1. What kind of hospital is it?
  2. Who visits Dr Ranj first?
  3. Why is it called outpatients?
  4. How does Dr Ranj check Riz’s weight?
  5. How does Dr Ranj measure Riz’s blood pressure?

Children's Mental Health Week

This week is Children's Mental Health Week. The theme is 'Express Yourself'. Expressing yourself is about finding ways to share feelings and thoughts through being creative e.g. art, music and doing activities that make you feel good.

Each day there will be an activity for the children to complete.

Day 1 activity:

Draw your feelings

You will need a piece of paper and some colouring pencils then watch the video and join in: https://bit.ly/3iJCoMv

You might also like to follow the mindfulness calendar and choose one 5 minute activity to do each day or pick one activity from the 'Express Yourself Bingo'. See below for more information.

*There will be no live story time at the end of the day.
