Wk 4 Day 4 28.1.21

Thursday 28th January 2021

Morning Movement

Have a go at one of Joe Wick’s children’s workouts (see The Body Coach channel on youtube) or choose one of the activities from the ‘Be Active’ area on Remote Learning page.

Phonics

Recap the Phase 2 and 3 sounds we have learnt using flashcards or play Flashcards Speed Trial on Phonics play:  https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/resources (username:jan21, password:home).

We have now learnt the tricky word ‘I’ and the trigraph ‘igh’. They sound the same but it is important to know when to use them.

The tricky word ‘I’ is used when you are talking about yourself e.g. I like carrots. Can you think of a sentence with ‘I’ and tell an adult?

The trigraph ‘igh’ is used within words e.g. night. Can you think of any other words that have the trigraph ‘igh’?

Use your detective skills to complete the sentences using either ‘I’ or a ‘igh’ word. See the sheet in the resources below.

Literacy

Detective Constable Niall McCloskey has passed on the message that your wanted posters were very helpful in finding Goldilocks. She is now feeling very sorry for herself and feels bad for making a mess.

Imagine you are Goldilocks and write a short letter to say sorry to Class R. See the example below…

Dear Class R,

I am sorry for making a mess outside your classroom. Please forgive me.

Love Goldilocks

Your child can use ‘Dear’ and ‘Love’ as we would usually have these words on a word mat. Please encourage them to write the rest of the letter phonetically by sounding out the words as they write them. For example, 'sorry' phonetically would be written 'soree'.

Maths

Combining 2 groups (part 2)

Watch Miss Levy’s Maths video on Teams. You can find it in the ‘Remote Learning’ channel under Files. For today’s task, you will find the activity sheet below.

R.E

What message did Jesus bring? (love for everyone)

Jesus told stories (parables) that taught people about God and how to live their life. Parables have a hidden meaning in it.

Watch the parable of the lost sheep: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Ry2MaMyvGo

What do you think the hidden message is?

Christians believe that Jesus loves everyone and thinks they are equally important.
