Morning Movement
Have a go at Joe Wick’s 5 or 8 minute children’s workouts (see The Body Coach channel on youtube) or choose one of the activities from the ‘Be Active’ area on Remote Learning page.
Phonics
Recap yesterday’s digraph ‘ai’ with Geraldine the Giraffe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnXaN-CvR9s
Write the tricky words (I, go, to, the, no, into, he, she, we, me, my) twice and muddle them up. Place them face down on the floor and play memory game ‘Snap’.
Introduce new tricky word ‘was’. Write the word on a piece of paper/whiteboard for your child to see. Explain that it is a tricky word so cannot be sounded out so we have to learn it by sight. If we try to sound it out, it sounds funny w-a-s.
Watch the ‘was’ song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukWsRp0m0Iw
Can you write the word ‘was’ in 5 different ways? You could write it in flour, on the ground with a wet brush, using chalk etc.
Challenge: To write a sentence including the tricky word ‘was’. For example, It was wet.
Literacy
Yesterday we learnt about the role of a fire fighter. Watch Miss Levy’s video story on Teams: ‘Fred the Frazzled Fireman’.
In the tour of a fire station video yesterday, you saw how a fire fighter put on his uniform. Can you remember what helped him to get changed quickly? Can you label the fire fighters? (see template below)
Words: helmet, gloves, jacket, boots, hose. Encourage your child to write phonetically using their sounds to help them.
Maths
Explain to your child that today we are going to be making the measuring scales balance. Watch Miss Levy’s video on Teams and then have a go yourself weighing objects against playdough to make your scales balance.

What message did Jesus bring? (forgiveness)
Look at the picture below. What do you think might be happening?
Watch the video about ‘Zacchaeus’: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5BjtbJFz2ug
Jesus was a friend to those that other people didn’t like. Christians believe that Jesus forgives people when they are sorry.
