Today we carried out an experiment to find out how the distance from a light source affects the shadow made by an opaque object. We planned an experiment as a class and then carried it out in small groups.
This term we are learning about light. We have been thinking about reflection by using mirrors to reflect light onto a target and also to be able to see behind us!
To complete our topic of Forces and Magnetism, we created our own magnetic games and learnt about the forces taking place. We had great fun playing them!
We have been busy in Science week! We had a wonderful session with Dan from the Royal Institute on Tuesday. He told us all about power and the different ways we can make electricity. In the afternoon we reflected on what we had learnt in the session, discussing it in groups and then presenting what we had learnt to the rest of the class. We look forward to sharing our learning with parents too on Friday!
This week we have been learning about muscles! We made models of our hands with string to represent the muscles. We now know that when the muscles contract (get smaller) they pull the bones and make them move.
Some of us also explored the partner muscles which extend (get longer) when the other muscle contracts.
