Science Jamboree!
Thanks to the STEM Hub for putting on some exciting virtual workshops. Class 5 were fortunate to participate in 'Magical Science', 'Incredible Oceans' and 'Amazing plants'; as well as take part in two live experiments with the National Physical Laboratory (NPL).
You can see some of our Ocean work below as well as test out your reaction times with the Scratch Computer Program we coded.
Why not have a go at Isla's Reaction Test Program and investigate who has the fastest reactions in your family as well as which factors affect how fast you can react? (Try changing one variable and have another go.)

Space!
Class 5 have really been enjoying our work on space so far.
Cosmic is a great book to use as a starting point but we have also loved the Sevenoaks Science Week Workshops; all of the Space competitions; and the work about landing on Mars.

Life Cycles
We have been investigating Food Webs and Life Cycles this term; and you can see some lovely homework examples below. Some of these have been interpreted through the use of cake! Changes of materials to go with changes in stages of life.
