School Christian Values

‘Together we learn, believe and achieve’

A strong Christian ethos underpins everything we strive for here at Chevening (St. Botolph's) CE Primary School. Our vision for the school centres on our belief that every  child is made in the image of God and therefore is infinitely precious, regardless of their academic abilities or personal circumstances. In practice, this means that we seek to provide the best education,  challenge and support  each individual child's needs, with the result  that  all may  achieve their potential, academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

This relates closely to the Church of England's Vision for  Education.

Our values help us to achieve this vision and we encourage all members of the school community to share our vision and values. We aspire to demonstrate them in all aspects of school life and enjoy spotting them in one another during each part of the school day.

We have eight School Christian Values, which are Love, Faith, Respect, Honesty, Courage, Compassion, Forgiveness and Perseverance.

For Lent 2019, we took part in the 40acts initiative for individuals and groups, with each class tackling a daily 'challenge' to show our Christian Values in action. We will be repeating this commitment for Lent 2020.

The 40acts come from one of the 7 categories below and resonate with our school values:

  • Gratitude
  • Environmental Care
  • Giving
  • School Community
  • Kindness
  • New friends
  • Doing the right thing

This year, in order to keep our paper-use at a minimum, the daily challenge will be shared virtually during Act of Worship. We hope to share some of our responses here and via our @CeChevening and @40acts, so keep checking to join in and also see our progress.

Motto: Together we Learn, Believe and Achieve.

School Code: Our school code is based on Jesus' Golden Rule:

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Matthew 22:34-40

  •  Always be in the right place at the right time.
  •  Always complete work to the best of your ability.
  • Always do as you are asked the first time, every time.
  • Always keep your hands, feet and unkind words to yourself.
