RE

Today we have been thinking about how Christians put their belief about Easter and the Resurrection into practice. We were given pictures which we had to ask questions about. After discussing these with our group, we swapped with another group and tried to answer theirs. We are going to follow this up by researching the practices shown in each picture to find the answers to our questions.

As we finish our term, we have been thinking about key themes and how they relate to the Gospel, Christians and our own lives.

This term we are thinking about the theme “What would Jesus do?” using stories that Jesus told as evidence. We started by thinking about the parable of the Wise and Foolish builder. We were tasked with building a Bible stand, some of us on rock (the playground) and some of us on the soft field (representing the sand). This helped us to think about the message Jesus was trying to give to people about his word being a strong foundation for living.

Thank you to everyone who got involved with our advent installation last week. We asked people to tell us what brings them jot at Christmas and added these to our festive hoops.

It was lovely to have a class Act of Worship prepared and led by some members of the class today. We hope to make this a regular occurrence to allow more of the children to have a more active role in how we worship.

This term we have been thinking about Jesus as a peacemaker. We started by looking at Palm Sunday and how he showed that he was humble before thinking about how Christians might choose to live their lives because of Jesus’ example. Today we thought about how we might be peacemakers, tying in our thinking in Act of Worship about how we can take the teachings of Proverbs “back to the playground”.
