At Chevening, we’re really lucky to have a very involved and supportive group of parents and a very active PTFA. The PTFA’s main function is to fundraise. We organise various activities and events for both children and parents throughout the academic year and use the money raised to fund various requests the school may have.
In the last academic year, we successfully raised over £24,000.
Throughout the year we organise various events such as the Christmas Fair, Annual Ball, Easter Funday, Movie Nights, School Disco and the Summer Fair. If you’d like to assist with any of these functions, or wish to contact us, please email cheveningpta@gmail.com
Over the past few years we have helped fund the purchase and maintenance of two new minibuses for the school, interactive smart boards for classrooms, replacement reading schemes, pantomime trips and the refurbishment of the school swimming pool.
At Chevening, all parents are automatically part of the PTFA and we do encourage people to be as actively involved as they can. Please do come to our PTFA meetings that are held each term; being part of the PTFA is a great way to meet other parents in the school, experience first-hand the wonderful school community and a rewarding way to volunteer.

It's now possible to raise money for the PTA by selling your unwanted toys & games, school uniform and even household items on the online marketplace eBay! We've tried to make it as easy as possible to use. Just follow these steps:
Charity listings have a little blue ribbon next to them, and you can see all the items that currently benefit Chevening PTA at:
https://www.charity.ebay.co.uk/charity/Chevening/3146202
You can also use that page to set Chevening PTA as your favourite eBay charity, so it's the first choice in all your charity listings.
Important - Gift Aid!
If you are a taxpayer, then the PTA can raise an extra 25% on top of your donations via Gift Aid. You can declare Gift Aid for all of your PayPal donations by following this link:

Questions & Answers
Here are some questions you might have, but if you think of any more please email me (treasurer.cheveningpta@gmail.com) and I'll try to find the answers!
Q. Why does PayPal wait 2 weeks before taking the money I want to donate?
A. It's just in case the item needs to be refunded for any reason.
Q. Do I have to donate the full amount to the PTA?
A. No, you can choose anywhere between 10% to 100%. For small items that you would have donated to charity anyway, then obviously we hope you'll donate 100%. But if you're selling valuable items then you might just want to make a smaller donation.
Q. Do I still have to pay eBay and PayPal fees?
A. Not on the portion that you donate to charity! If you choose to donate the full amount then neither you nor the PTA has to pay a penny in eBay or PayPal fees.
Q. Will the PTA be selling items on here?
A. Yes, the plan is to use this to sell 2nd hand uniform and possibly other items which have been donated. In the current climate we can't hold a "traditional" uniform sale where people gather together and thumb through all the items...
Q. Is it just other Chevening parents who can see my listings?
A. No, there's no reason to limit sales just to other parents. If it's something you could post, then please do add a postage option and a sensible postage amount. But in the delivery details you should always add a 'local collection' option that parents can use, and then arrange to hand over the item at school drop-off or pick-up.
Q. I've got nothing to sell, but I still really want to make a donation?!
A. That's so kind! And it's possible to donate directly via our PayPal page here (please don't forget the Gift Aid!):
