‘Together we learn, believe and achieve’

The Amazonian plants are one of the main attractions of the Rainforest. They can be helpful and unhelpful in all sorts of ways, plants are everywhere around the rainforest and useful for animals. These popular wow sights can come in all shapes and sizes in any weather: come rain, come sun. Plants are different colours and can be dangerous even though sometimes you might not realise. Here are some of the mixture of plants you could see in the green!

Poisonous Plants

 

As well as plants that can cure you from diseases, there are also some plants that can cause this. These can be deadly and should be avoided at all costs. Here are some poisonous plants that grow in the Amazon:

Strychos-this is used to make poisonous arrows.

Angel’s Trumpet-this gives you dreams that make you predict misfortune, which makes you do bad things to yourself.

Nerium oleander- this is fatally poisonous if digested.

Stinging brush-this causes very painful stings and can be fatal.

Useful Plants

 

As well as being poisonous, plants in the Amazon can be useful. They can be used for different purposes. Here are some of them:

Wasai- This plant is used for kidney health, it can be very useful.

Lapacho- This plant is used to treat cancer for people.

Cordoncillo-This plant is used as an anaesthetic.

Sodo- This plant is used to treat addiction.

Pusangade- This plant is used to relieve anxiety.

Cola de Raton- This plant is used to help with digestion.

Some of the plants in the Amazon may not be useful for health, but can make people stop and gaze at their beauty for hours upon end. Their vibrant colours are extremely satisfying.
