Park Farm
Class R had an absolutely fantastic and memorable trip to Park Farm in Brasted. From the moment they arrived, excitement filled the air. The children were thrilled to get up close and personal with the calves, carefully feeding and gently stroking them. They were equally delighted by the sight of the tiny lambs snuggled alongside their mothers.
Throughout the day, the class discovered lots of fascinating facts. They enjoyed learning about the differences between straw and hay, as well as where cows’ food comes from, becoming real farm experts. One of the biggest highlights was the exhilarating tractor ride, where cheers and laughter filled the air, especially as they made as much noise as possible driving underneath the M25. On their journey, the children were greeted by a herd of cows and quickly showed off their keen observation skills by spotting the odd one out, the bull! A visit to the wheat fields sparked even more curiosity, and the children later had a go at using grains to make their own flour.
The hands-on fun continued as they turned cream into butter, giving their arm muscles a real workout with all that energetic shaking! Finally, it was time for the most anticipated part of the day, ice cream tasting, and it certainly did not disappoint.
A huge thank you to Louisa and all of the Edgar family for such a wonderful and unforgettable trip!
