“Run, run as fast as you can…”

What an incredible week we’ve had diving into the tale of the Gingerbread Man. We didn’t just read the story, we brought it to life! From learning powerful new words like accelerate, pursue, leap, soggy, and cunning (each with fun actions to match) to weaving them into our storytelling, we became true word wizards. Next, we explored the sequence of events and created colourful story maps before letting our imaginations run wild by editing the story and swapping out characters. Our finger gym was a delicious success too, decorating gingerbread men in all sorts of creative ways. To top it off, we stepped into the Gingerbread Man’s shoes and wrote our very own speech bubbles, proudly sounding out words like “run” all by ourselves.
