It’s been a playful few literary weeks. With National Poetry Day and the Henley Literary Festival ‘bookending’ October so far, Class 5 have been enjoying ‘playing with words’.

The theme of Poetry Day this year is ‘play’ and Y5 have just finished compiling their own book of poetry based on idioms and the quirky nature of our great language. It is a language that is rich with the influence of so many countries and cultures. (You should be able to get your hands on a physical copy to enjoy at home soon.
