Elmer

Class R read the story ‘Elmer’ by David McKee. They have learnt the new words 'patchwork, different, camouflage, colourful' and 'unique' and enjoyed adding actions as they heard the words in the story. They have created their own Elmer adventures, inventing a feeding tree for Elmer when he lost his trunk and finding a new place for Elmer to hide from his elephant friends.
Their Finger Gym activities have linked to the story. They have used cotton buds, mosaic tiles and stickers to decorate Elmer and traced the line patterns over his body.
