As we embark on our new learning this term about volcanoes and earthquakes, we have first begun by looking at the formation of the Earth.  Do you know what it looks like inside and could you name the three different parts?  We have also been fortunate enough to have Mrs Pontin (who is quite the volcanologist) come in and give us a presentation on all things volcanic - sharing her wealth of knowledge and passion.  We then moved on to learning all about earthquakes, what causes them and their impact.  We also considered how advancements in science and technology have had a positive effect on the lives of those who live in places that are most at risk.  We even tried designing and making some earthquake resistant structures! See our Art & D.T. page for photos.
