The Pebble in My Pocket

This term, we begin by focusing on all things rocks and pebbles, which links beautifully to our Science learning, as we read The Pebble in My Pocket: A History of Our Earth written by Meredith Hooper.  We began by bringing in pebbles and stones that meant a lot to us and used these as a focus to write some amazing pebble poems.  We then moved on to exploring the language used within the text, commenting on which words we particularly liked and why.  We have also been bringing the story to life, using both visualisation and freeze-frames techniques, to provide us with inspiration for our writing.
