Morning Movement
What’s your name? With an adult’s help, spell out your name and complete the activity listed for each letter.
Phonics
Watch Miss Levy’s Phonics video on Teams. You can find it in the ‘Remote Learning’ channel under Files. You will need a piece of paper and a pencil whilst you are watching so you can join in.
Literacy
Look at the pictures on the word document (see below).
Ask your child: What do you notice about the pictures? How are they similar? How are they different?
Highlight to your child that all these photographs show people that help us in the community. Some of these people help us in emergencies and others help us to stay safe and healthy. If there is an emergency, you need to know how to get in touch with the right person to help you.
This is our new topic ‘Key Workers’. Over the next few weeks, we are going to learn about some of these jobs in more detail.
Do you know who can help you in different situations? Watch video and pause after each image and speech/thought bubble so your child can have time to think before revealing the answer. See video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uTOOQDEMLI
Maths
Say aloud a number 0-5. Can you show me one more than that number on your fingers? Can you show me one less? Repeat with other numbers. If your child is confident, extend up to 10.
Listen and watch the story ‘Six Dinner Sid’: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3XAdTJCtgTs
How many times do they meet 6? Today I would like you to make houses to represent Sid’s street. You can use paper, card or anything else you have at home. Can you number the doors and order the houses from 1-6? What if we added another house? And another?
Forest School
Go on a scavenger hunt in your garden or locally. Can you find the following items?
