Term 3

Dial 999 in an emergency!

We had two very special visitors to school this week.

PC Botton told us all about his very important role as a Police Officer and Firefighter Vernon taught us all about fire safety. 

Naughty Bus is on the loose!

The children thoroughly enjoyed reading 'Naughty Bus' by Jan and Jerry Oke. They were very shocked to find their classroom in such a mess and Naughty Bus nowhere to be found! The children made wanted posters and put them around the school. They eventually found Naughty Bus causing chaos in Class 1!

When I grow up I want to be ...

The children enjoyed starting a brand new topic 'People Who Help Us'. They shared their ideas about what jobs they would like when they grow up. We found different ways to make numbers 6, 7 & 8. 

Happy New Year

We enjoyed sharing all our new from the Christmas holiday. We explored our New Years Resolutions. At Forest School, we looked for signs of Winter and enjoyed a warm, hot chocolate.

Term 2

Christmas Arts & Crafts

The children enjoyed creating, inventing, fixing, sticking and painting Christmas themed arts and crafts this week.

The children made Christmas cards and sent them in the post as a surprise for their family.

A Scrumptious Christmas Dinner

Today, the children enjoyed a delicious Christmas dinner, crackers and festive music. 

 

The Christmas Fairies

The Christmas Fairies visited Class R on the 1st of December and decorated the classroom as a surprise to mark the start of Advent. 

Stanley's Stick

 

Have you ever found a fan - ta- stick stick? Well, Class R have this week! They enjoyed reading all about Stanley's adventures with his stick and created their own magical adventures with their own sticks.

Anti - Bullying Week

Class R explored friendship this week. They thought about what they feel makes a good friend and the kind of friend they are to others.

Hibernating Hedgehogs

This week, we began by sharing all the knowledge we already had about hedgehogs. We then explored some fiction and non - fiction books and found out some really interesting information!

Did you know that hedgehogs can swim!

The children worked together to build homes for hedgehogs in Forest School. 

The Role Play corner turned into a 'Dark Den'.

Diwali & Fantastic Fireworks

Class R enjoyed exploring the festival Diwali this week. They made Diva lamps using clay and painted them using bright colours. The children designed Rangloli patterns using 2D shapes. On Friday, they made roaring rockets through an explosion of paint and glitter.

 

Term 1

Leaf Man

Autumn has definitely arrived! Class R really enjoyed exploring our favourite books in Class R; 'Leaf Man' by Lois Ehlert.

The children loved collecting their own leaves and making their own leafy creations. 

Science Week  

Class R became 'Champions for Change' this week and loved finding out about how important bees are for our environment. They enjoyed using their senses to explore honey and made their own honeycomb printed shapes. They performed some buzzy songs and poems.

Bella has been playing 'Hide & Seek' over the summer in Class R. Can you spot her in the pictures below?
