Maths

We will be given a Maths sheet to complete consisting of calculations to help improve our fluency. 

In Term 3, the children will be given individual logins to TimesTableRockstars to practise their 2, 5 and 10 times tables at home. 

Spellings

To begin with, each week we will be given a list of spellings in line with their learning in class, to learn at home. 

Later in the school year, we will instead focus on our own individual spelling words that we will record in our spelling journals.  These will be spelling errors, collected and found in their written work, which Miss Sweeney would then like to see learnt and hopefully spelt correctly at a later date in our class work.

Reading

It is vital that we read each day. Little and often is best – a page or two is better than nothing.  We will then change our books when we finish and record our reading journey (thoughts and reflections) in our Reading Records!

From Term 4, the children will have a Reading Comprehension activity to complete each week to help them practice their retrieval and inference skills. 

Topic Grid

Our other homework is to choose an activity from the topic grid (which you can see below). We have two weeks for each project.
