‘Together we learn, believe and achieve’
Chevening, St Botolph's C.E. Voluntary Aided Primary School - Welcome to our new school website.

We're off on a journey ...

‘Together we learn, believe and achieve’

This was such a fun and fact packed topic in which we explored a range of different modes of transport and looked in detail at how they have changed through the ages.

We began by reading Mr Gumpy's Motor Car which then inspired a fantastic art project. We looked at how the motor car has change through the decades.

We thoroughly enjoyed reading 'Mrs Armitage' on Wheels by Quentin Blake. The children wrote some super stories based on the main themes in the story and created their own inventions.

We had an exciting trip on a bus from Sevenoaks library back to school.

Next, we zoomed into space and spent a week with Tim Peake exploring space travel. This was an adventure packed full of facts. We became familiar with the features of many different non fiction text. The children were then able to write their own space fact files.

We jumped on board a boat with a boy desperate to find a home for his friend and very lost penguin. The children wrote short stories for the penguin to read while sailing the seas.

We had one last trip to make before the end of term and that was  on board 'The Polar Express'. A very magical and exciting way to finish our topic.
