Tree of Light service
With the support of Chevening Parish Council, the Hospice in the Weald are sponsoring a "Tree of Light" Christmas tree on the green at Chipstead (opposite the Bricklayer’s Arms). There will be a service of dedication at 7.00pm on Monday 10 December. Do come along and offer your support.

Christmas gifts
Thank you for your kindness. The open offering at the service of Nine Lessons and Carols will be given to Chevening School. Any gifts left under the Christmas tree at the pre-Christmas services will be given to the Cheshire Home. It is a help if you can indicate on the gift if it is for a man or a woman.

Carol singing — come and sing round the parish!
After a great success last year we will be singing carols round the parish again on Monday 18 December. Please meet at outside the Parish Hall at 4.00pm; dress warmly and bring a torch.

Chevening School judged "Outstanding" by SIAS
Our church school has just undergone its Statutory Inspection of Anglican Schools; the first for five years. I am delighted to say that the school was judged "outstanding" and we offer our congratulations to Mrs Jones and her team. The inspectors were very impressed with the links between the church, the community and school. So a huge thank you to members of St Botolph's who help the school in so many ways.

January film festival
We are delighted to be holding a mini film festival in January. Come and enjoy a free film at the Parish Hall on Wednesday nights: 9 and 16 January. Free popcorn will be served. Details to follow in the next newsletter.
