Whitsun
The third most important Christian Festival (after
Easter and Christmas) takes place in May. Sunday 11th May is Whit
Sunday, the day we remember God’s gift of the Holy Spirit to his people. The
Holy Spirit inspires us and gives us God’s strength to live our lives in the
world as it is today. The services at St Botolph’s that day are;
8.00 am Holy
Communion CW
10.30 am Holy Communion CW
We should love to see you in church.
Christian Aid
Week 2008 11th -17th May
Christian Aid Week is seven amazing days of
fundraising, campaigning and worship. It unites 300,000 people in the UK's
biggest house-to-house collection. It inspires hundreds of events, brings
together thousands of churches and reaches millions of people with messages
about poverty. Most importantly it helps people in poor communities around the
world change their lives.
Christian Aid
Week this year is 11th -17th May. This is the week during
which those familiar red envelopes are distributed and collected for donations
to the Christian Aid organisation. Christian Aid provides help and support for
people living in the underdeveloped world where there is so much need. Please be
generous when you receive your envelope and if you are able to help with the
collection please contact Mrs. Corinne Beaumont on 01732 455726
Church Annual Meeting
The Annual Vestry meeting and the Annual Parochial
Church Meeting take place in the Parish Hall on Thursday 3rd April
starting at 7.45 pm. These are the important meetings when Churchwardens
and PCC members are elected. We shall also receive reports from all the church
organisation and the Rector will present his annual report, which will take the
form of a “State of the Church” report. In order to vote at the Annual Meeting
you must be on the Electoral Roll of St Botolph’s Church. We have this year
compiled a new roll so if you are not on the roll and wish to be, please fill in
a form, available in church.
