Welcome to Class 2!
In Class 2 we love to learn,
and working as part of a team.
Every day is exciting
Every term we explore a new theme.
From Africa to Antarctica,
off to Chevening Church we go.
The Great Fire of London
a day at the beach
and so many plants to grow.
Let's not forget our step back in time,
to see how transport's changed through the ages.
So much to learn, so much to discover
in our informative Class 2 pages.

After the gradual transition across last year, the children are now ready for a more formalised but fun learning experience. We will begin each day with the core subjects; English, Maths, Guided Reading and Phonics. After lunch the children will explore the many foundation subjects in our curriculum.
As we progress through this year we will expect your child to become more independent in all areas. This will prepare them for the transition into Key Stage 2. We therefore ask your child to be in control of book changing, fruit and water bottles, coats, jumpers and homework.
Our Exciting Topics

This group will explore the texts and language of the Bard with the class in a fun and practical manner.
Here is a link if you would like to see what the company does in a little more detail.
A Midsummer Night's Dream!
We had a fantastic, fun, exciting, Shakespearean morning with the Bigfoot Arts Company. After exploring the story of A Midsummer Night's Dream in detail, we acted out scenes from the play, had a go at freeze framing a range of characters reactions in certain scenes and tried out some other acting techniques and skills. It has inspired us to have a go at writing our own play full of magical ideas and strange happenings!
On Wednesday 24th May the school celebrated Pentecost Day. We had an exciting day learning about why Christians celebrate Pentecost Day and making lots of Pentecost crafts. Here are a few photos from the day.
There are some fantastic websites where the children can play a variety of fun games to support their learning. Here are just a few:
